THE WAY

Sue O’Donnell. 22.12.20

“ ‘I, I AM the Way and I, I AM the Truth and I, I AM the Life. Nobody can come to the Father in heaven except through faith in Me. To know Me personally is to know My Father as well. So from this time you can say that you both know Him and have seen Him.” (John 14 v 6, 7 The Truth)

The way home to heaven awaits us.

This way opens up at Christmas.

Jesus is the Way, for His way is love,

True love in all its offer of holiness.

We live life to the full through Christ Jesus.

We have to prayerfully commit to Him

That we can share readily His love,

Which arises out of our Father’s mercy.

We see others in need, we have to react.

We must do for them whatever the Spirit asks of us.

The Holy Spirit inspires us to live like Jesus.

Jesus’ holy life sacrificed for us, results in forgiveness.

Forgiveness means we fall away from satan’s interference.

Disaster, many a disaster, is averted prayerfully,

As we pray and ask the Spirit of love to teach us,

Lead us, take away our self-centredness,

Move us forwards in faith’s trust and dependency

That Jesus’ love will always be in the ascendancy.

Love is the motive behind Jesus’ birth.

Love is the meaning and message of Christmas,

That true love our Father gifts us in Jesus,

Making this active and effective by the Holy Spirit.

Gladness of heart and willingness of mind,

Mean we find how to serve in Jesus’ name of love.

This must be a love offering from the heart.

Our heart of conviction leading us in a godly direction.

The world needs to know the gift of true love

Is born amongst us in Christ Jesus, at Christmas.

This is to be the far, far reach of true love.

Let then the Holy Spirit teach us,

Putting into action the teaching and loving example of Jesus.

Doing this wholeheartedly and joyously.

For the lasting gift of Christmas is God’s love, peace and joy,

Made ours in this wondrous birth of a Baby Boy,

Promised to Mary and come to us as Saviour and Healer.

All that has gone wrong will be redeemed and restored,

As long as we claim and name the Lord Jesus for who He is,

The Word made flesh, our forever Saviour, the living hope.

What scope we have when enlisting the Spirit of praise,

Expressing our adoration in admiration with thanksgiving.

“I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever.” (Psalm 145 v 1, 2) “Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.” (Psalm 145 v 3) But we can call upon You, Holy Spirit, Lord, that “One generation shall praise Your works to another,” (Psalm 145 v 4) Your works of helping us to believe in Jesus as our Father’s Word made Flesh, our Lord God’s fulfilled promise. Let us pray the in all praise and adoration. Amen.
